Nalgene™ Polypropylene, Closure with Barbed Bulkhead Fittings, 1/2 inch

Maintain the integrity of a container and its contents with Thermo Scientific™ Nalgene™ Quick Filling/Venting Closures. A convenient fluid transfer system, this ported 83B closure features a quick-disconnect fitting with tubulation for attachment to tubing of your choice. Fittings have tubulation both in and outside of the closure, and socket fittings in the cap have internal valves that seal when a tubulation fitting is removed to maintain container seal integrity.

Designed to aseptically handle solutions in biopharmaceutical, biotechnology and laboratory liquid transfer applications, these two- and three-ported closures are designed for Thermo Scientific™ Nalgene™ Biotainer™ bottles and carboys. With Animal Derived Component-Free (ADCF) components, including seals that are sonically-welded to the cap, and leak-proof closures, security of high value contents are guaranteed during fluid transfer. Use Thermo Scientific™ Nalgene™ Spigot Closure with Polypropylene Lock Nut and TPE Plug in place of a spigot when autoclaving liquids in a Nalgene carboy to provide a leakproof† seal. This closure is also useful when handling could damage or accidentally turn on a spigot, or when a spigot-less carboy is required. Fits all Nalgene carboys with spigot and selected Nalgene tanks with spigot.

Securely close off 3/4 in. or 3 in. sanitary ports on carboys with Thermo Scientific™ Nalgene™ Polypropylene End Caps. These are reliable, repeatable seals when used in combination with a silicone gasket and true union clamp.  A groove on underside of end cap accepts standard sanitary gaskets for sealing the systems.
